Who Owns What?

Customers are sometimes surprised when they find our that utilities do not repair every part of their electric service. An electric utility is responsible for bringing electricity to your business and/or home and ensuring that it is metered properly. Do you know the property owner's responsibility?

Your Electric Bill

Summary of Commercial Rates

Rate 11    Farm Rate-Non Demand.    First 10 kWh: $10.15 per month.    $0.0494 per kWh for all over 10 kWh per month

Rate 12    Demand.    First 10 kW: $90.00 per month.  $9.00 per Kw for all over 10 kW per month.  $0.0184 per kWh for all kWh per month.

Rate 17    Non Demand.  First 10 kWh: $11.27 per month.    $0.0549 per kWh for all over 10 kWh per month

Rate 18    Farm Demand.    First 10 kW: $81.00 per month.  $8.10 per Kw for all over 10 kW per month.  $0.0166 per kWh for all kWh per month.

Additional Charges on Your Bill:

Power Adjustment Charge:                                           $0.042 per kWh per month.
Residential PASNY Credit                                            -$0.0003 per kWh per month.
Residential Conservation Service:                                  $0.24 per month.
Renewable Energy an Energy Conservation Charge:        $0.005 per kWh per month.

Discount

The Department offers a 10% discount on the rate portion of the bill only for prompt payment.  The Discount policy is defined on the back of the bills.

Are You Tax Exempt?

Why pay unnecessary taxes? Every year, we issue notices about exemptions from the State’s tax laws that may apply to you. Following is a short summary of some exemptions:

  1. Residential Accounts are automatically exempt. No action is necessary from you.
  2. Non Profit Accounts are exempt once they file a one-time ST-2 Exemption Certificate with us.
  3. Small Businesses with five or less full-time employees are exempt. By January 1st every year, an ST-13 form must be filed with us.
  4. Manufacturing, Farming, Radio/Television Broadcasting, Research & Development concerns may be exempt. A one-time ST-12 form must be filed with us.
